The Bosch EXPERT Self Cut Speed 13 × 152 mm spade bit is made for fast, rough drilling in softwood. Typical tasks include through-holes for cables, pipes and other installation hardware. Bosch also lists particleboard as a suitable workpiece material.
Cutting design
The threaded point helps pull the bit into the wood with light feed pressure. Bosch Tip Technology combines this self-feeding action with a wave-shaped paddle that moves chips away from the cutting area.

Application and tool fit
Use with a drill driver or impact driver that accepts the 1/4-inch hex shank. This bit is intended for softwood and particleboard; Bosch states that the Self Cut Speed range is not suitable for hardwood.
