AQUA Granular coconut shell cartridge 9 7/8 x 2 1/2

A cartridge containing activated carbon with high adsorption capacity for contaminants. Particularly useful for removing chlorine and its derivatives, as well as organic compounds. It reduces organic substances that affect the taste and odor of water. The cartridge contains the best version of activated carbon—finely ground carbon from coconut shells.

The media inside the cartridge has adsorption capabilities for chlorine and other volatile organic substances present in water. It effectively reduces macromolecular compounds. It is especially recommended for under-sink systems. Finely ground activated carbon has a very large surface area and a high number of chemically active sites. This type of carbon cannot filter mechanically contaminated water, as it would clog the active sites and reduce its filtration effectiveness. Therefore, water treatment with carbon cartridges should be preceded by mechanical filtration (preferably <= 20 microns). However, it is highly effective at removing chlorine from water containing colloidal and organic substances.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION: The cartridge is placed in a housing (body) designed to work with cartridges of the specified size. The seal is achieved by the profile of the housing pressing into the upper seal. Water entering the housing flows from the bottom of the cartridge to its center. Contaminants are trapped within the structure of the cartridge.

The cartridge is not compatible with USTM housings from the WFU and WFW series.
Due to the design of USTM filter housings (WFU and WFW series), the FCCBHD cartridge cannot be mounted inside these housings, as this may damage the cartridge and cause its contents to leak out. It can be used with other standard housings, regardless of the manufacturer.
