The Dremel 561 uses spiral side-cutting edges for freehand cuts in suitable softer materials. Dremel specifies softwood below 12 mm thick, plastics, fibreglass and thin aluminium foil; plasterboard is also a listed application.

Use and fit: for a compatible Dremel rotary multi-tool with a suitable 3.2 mm holder; no separate mandrel is needed. Dremel recommends its multipurpose cutting guide 565 for depth control, purchased separately. Feed slowly and use the cutting sides without excessive pressure. Follow the guide instructions and material limits.
