VITEX SILACRYL Paintable acrylic elastoplastic sealant white 280ml
VITEX Silacryl is a one-component flexible acrylic sealant designed for professional interior and exterior applications. It is suitable for filling and sealing joints, connections, gaps and cracks with movement capability of up to 12.5%.
It provides very good adhesion to many common construction materials, including cement, brickwork, stone, wood, painted wood, metal window sills, anodised aluminium and uPVC. On most correctly prepared substrates, it can be applied without a primer.
The sealant is almost odourless, can be tooled and smoothed with water and may be painted after drying. It is resistant to moisture under normal conditions but is not suitable for areas continuously exposed to water.
It is non-corrosive to metals and can be transported at temperatures down to -15°C without freezing.

Surface Preparation
Surfaces must be clean and free from dust, oil, grease and loose materials. They may be slightly damp but must not be wet.
An adhesion test is recommended before application. On highly absorbent substrates, a small quantity of Silacryl lightly diluted with water may be used as a primer.
A primer is generally not required on cement, brickwork, stone, wood, painted wood, metal window sills, anodised aluminium and uPVC.
Application Instructions
- Cut the end of the cartridge and attach a suitable nozzle.
- Apply the sealant evenly into the joint using a cartridge gun.
- Tool and smooth the surface with a suitable tool or water before skin formation begins.
- Allow the material to dry under dry conditions for at least the first 5 hours.
- After curing, the sealant may be overpainted with a suitable paint.
Limitations
- Not suitable for PE, PP or Teflon surfaces.
- Do not apply on bituminous surfaces.
- Not recommended for areas continuously exposed to water.
- Do not apply at temperatures below 5°C or above 40°C.
- Protect the applied sealant from rain and moisture for at least the first 5 hours.
