Active Clear Glass by AstralPool is an innovative filter media made from recycled glass. It offers superior filtration efficiency compared to silica sand, reducing water, energy, and chemical usage due to less frequent backwashing. Its angular to sub-angular particle shape and high bound-silica content provide 30% better turbidity removal. The smooth, non-porous surface helps resist biofouling, making it a more hygienic option. It also requires 10% less volume to fill the same filter and maintains long-term performance without degradation.
