Application Instructions
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust, oil and grease.
Apply using a manual, pneumatic or electric 300ml cartridge gun. The product can be used with a standard nozzle or a V-cut nozzle, depending on the application.
Glass and metal surfaces may require pre-treatment with Sika® Primer-207. Tooling and smoothing should be completed before skin formation using a suitable product such as Sika® Tooling Agent N.
Uncured material can be removed using Sika® Remover-208. Fully cured material can only be removed mechanically.
Paintability
Sikaflex®-221 can be painted after skin formation. For the best results, allow the sealant to cure completely before painting.
Compatibility with one-component polyurethane paints and two-component acrylic paints should be tested on a small area before full application.
Chemical Resistance
• Resistant to fresh water and seawater
• Resistant to diluted acids and alkalis
• Short-term resistance to fuels, oils and greases
