Actual coverage may vary depending on the condition, porosity and texture of the substrate.

Surface Preparation

The surface must be clean, dry and free from:

• Dust
• Rust
• Oil and grease
• Loose materials
• Foreign substances or other contaminants that could reduce adhesion

Any gaps, cracks or surface imperfections should be repaired using suitable products before application.

Depending on the substrate, a suitable primer may be applied, such as:

• Water-based acrylic primer diluted with potable water at a ratio of 1:3
• S-MICRO PRIMER diluted with potable water by up to 50%, particularly for weak or highly porous substrates
• PRIMER SOLVENT diluted by up to 100% with White Spirit

Primer coverage is approximately 5–10 m²/L, depending on substrate absorption.

Application

HYBRID PU SHIELD is supplied ready to use.

Additional coats should be applied only after the previous coat has dried and the surface has achieved sufficient walkability.

For surfaces with larger or more extensive cracking, reinforcement using fibreglass mesh or polyester fabric is recommended.

After the primer has dried, apply one coat of HYBRID PU SHIELD and embed the reinforcement into the coating while it is still wet. Apply an additional coat over the reinforcement, followed by at least two further coats for optimum waterproofing performance.

Application Conditions

• Application temperature: 7°C to 35°C
• Relative humidity: Below 80%
• Application tools: Roller, brush or airless spray gun
• Tool cleaning: Clean immediately after use with water and detergent if required

Storage

Store in the original sealed container at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C. Protect from direct sunlight and frost.
